News - August 2010
17th July 2010
UK Conservative Libertarian Alliance is formed.
Following a fairly intense political discussion between activists of different parties we realised that although Conservative Libertarians are acknowledged now as a new sub-group in politics there was no official organisation which bound us together and within which we could discuss political ideas. We decided to start one.
It remains very 'early days' but we hope that we can create a community of people who share our ideals and ideology in order to encourage discussion and lively debate.
It should be noted that we have no intention whatsoever of becoming a "political party" or infringing on the activity of the existing political parties. We are not part of the Conservative Party, or LPUK or any other existing party (though our members may well be) and membership of a political party does not prevent you from joining us. We don't care which party you support, only that you have an affinity for Conservative Libertarianism.

Conservative Party Conference
It was suggested that we might run a fringe event at the Conservative Party Conference. But the Alliance is too new to pull it off at such short notice. Instead, we thought members who were attending could get together informerly for a drink and perhaps descend "on mass" into other fringe events and make ourselves known in the question and answer sessions. Anybody interested should drop us an email at office@conservativelibertarian.co.uk
JOIN US
We would encourage you to join us - which will allow us to keep you appraised of any events and meetings we are planning, let you know when new articles are posted and bring you into the discussion and debate concerning the Conservative Libertarian movement. We'll also send you an occasional free newsletter! There is no charge for membership, though we do reserve the power to refuse membership or remove membership. As Conservative Libertarians, it is a power we hope never to have to use.
